Your Opportunity

The Injury Management Advisor is an integral member of WHS team and will support the team with our injury management process. You will manage a caseload of workers compensation and non -work related injuries/illness across all states by providing expertise in all aspects of return-to-work programs. This includes complex case management and will play a critical role in managing early intervention programs whilst building productive working relationships with staff, managers, and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage statutory claims from beginning to end including administrative management of claim files
  • Provide advice to staff, and managers on matters relating to Workers Compensation, injury management and return to work including recovery at work activities
  • Comply with legislative requirements
  • Influence, mentor and coach managers to achieve positive outcomes relating to injury management  and return to work
  • Claims management reporting
  • Participate in case conferences regular case review with relevant stakeholders
  • Collating information and responses to workers compensation providers required for claims
  • Work with the WHS team to develop and implement injury management processes to ensure consistent approach
    • Staff work related and non-work related injury reporting
    • Early intervention
    • Return to work process
  • Support the WHS team in relation to proactive safety and Wellness programs
  • Monitoring and keeping up to date with current incident reports
  • Coordinate safety champion meetings and make recommendations on emerging issues based on your reporting findings.

About you

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a fast-paced injury management role
  • Previous role with the ongoing management of work and non-work-related injuries
  • Thorough knowledge of the provisions of relevant Workers compensation legislation across Workplace Health and Safety legislation, including other relevant legislation, codes and standards across all states
  • Demonstrated experience and success in injury case management and return to work
  • Demonstration of initiative problem solving
  • Demonstrated ability to promote and implement workplace health and safety strategies including incident investigating and reporting, health and safety auditing and hazard management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with and influence key stakeholders at all levels
