your opportunity

Join yourtown’s ID&T team as the Cyber Security Analyst to investigate, and report on information security and data loss alerts. In this newly created position, you will contribute to the development of response plans, policies and procedures to protect yourtown’s IT systems and infrastructure from security threats and vulnerabilities.

In this role you will:

• Monitor and assess the information security and related environments for security events, providing recommendations to leadership, and taking the necessary steps to remediate unacceptable risks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their business needs to uphold and enhance their security standards.
• Create policies and procedures to resolve issues and protect yourtown’s information systems and infrastructure from security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Develop options and solutions to data loss issues and contribute to the remediation and recovery activities.
• Proactively provide guidance to yourtown team members on cyber security practices and additional solutions that can be applied to achieve program objectives.

what we are looking for

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Possess extensive expertise in cyber security, with a strong specialisation in implementing and optimising data loss prevention strategies.
• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or a related discipline are considered highly advantageous.
• In depth knowledge of cyber security principles, technologies, and best practices, including threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Experience with security technologies and tools, such as SIEM, DLP, EDR, CASB, and threat hunting platforms. In addition, you also possess experience in Microsoft security technologies such as Compliance Manager, Sentinel, and Defender.
• Exhibit excellent organisational skills, problem-solving abilities, and interpersonal skills to engage and influence key stakeholders effectively.
