your opportunity 

As the Cultural Coach, you will work directly with young people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, providing culturally responsive and strengths focused support. This newly created role focuses on building trust with members, addressing cultural barriers to participation, and actively supporting their engagement in employment, education, and community life. You will deliver this through culturally informed coaching, practical advocacy, and close collaboration with our Employment Services team and community partners. 

As the Cultural Coach, you will: 

  • Deliver culturally informed case management and individualised support to members.
  • Lead culturally informed crisis and wraparound supports, delivering timely crisis intervention and individualised support where required
  • Provide proactive post placement support to members, helping them navigate workplace challenges and sustain ongoing employment & education. 
  • Deliver services that recognise cultural safety, trauma history, language barriers, and adjustment challenges. 
  • Work collaboratively with our team to deliver quality services tailored to the unique cultural identities, lived experiences, and strengths of young people from CALD and migrant communities. 
  • Engage with the community and maintain networks with multicultural services, interpreters and community leaders.  

what we are looking for

  • You hold a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, Multicultural Work, Settlement Services or a related discipline.  
  • Demonstrated experience in youth work, or a similar role, in the provision of effective case management of disengaged young people, as well as demonstrated experience in developing strategies to overcome the challenges to employment faced by youth from diverse cultural backgrounds. 
  • Proficiency in a second language relevant to the client caseload, especially Dari and/or Persian (Farsi), is desirable though not essential. 
  • Proven ability to deliver workshops and group facilitation processes. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a flair for networking will see you build relationships across a variety of stakeholders, including client cohorts, government, community and business group. 
  • Proficient skills in using technology and systems; our compliance requirements are high and your administration needs to be on par with this. 
  • You hold an unrestricted drivers licence.
