your opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our Corporate Services team at yourtown. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information and the timely delivery of financial and statutory reporting. You will also leverage data‑driven insights and strong technical expertise to develop, optimise, and maintain data models and reporting solutions that enhance finance capability.

As the Senior Financial Accountant, you will:

• Manage end‑to‑end financial accounting, month‑end/year‑end processes, tax compliance.
• Support statutory reporting and external audit
• Maintain strong balance sheet and general ledger integrity, overseeing assets, reconciliations, and technical accounting guidance.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and account structures
• Act as a finance systems expert, enhancing data structures, integrations, and controls across key platforms.
• Develop and maintain Power Query solutions to automate data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and validation.
• Build and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards to support month end, audit and governance.
• Strengthen financial controls and drive continuous improvement through process optimisation, standardisation, and documentation.

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and, CA or CPA qualified (or are actively studying towards your CA or CPA).
• 3+ years’ experience in financial accounting with strong technical knowledge of month end, statutory reporting, and compliance.
• Demonstrated experience with finance system database, including data structures, integrations, Power Query automation, and Power BI reporting.
• Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver clear, accurate financial insights.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and time management skills, with adaptability in a changing, process improvement focused environment.
