your opportunity

As our Youth Worker, you will deliver strengths-based case management to young people to support them with addressing vocational and non-vocational barriers to employment. Based at our Transition to Work office in Bundaberg, you will collaborate with the team to deliver quality services that enhance self-efficacy of our youth by focusing on their strengths and inherent abilities.

As a Youth Worker, your day will include:

• evaluating individual strengths and connecting young people with specialised support services.
• crafting and delivering engaging group activities and workshops to enhance vocational and non-vocational skills, life skills, and work readiness in young people.
• working in collaboration with the young person to set goals to address non-vocational barriers.
• designing personalised case plans that not only set clear goals but also ignite enthusiasm, closely tracking and celebrating progress and achievements.
• Collaborating in case conferences with the job placement coach to ensure a coordinated approach.
• championing innovation, challenging the norm, and tirelessly advocating for the well-being and success of young individuals.
• actively engaging with the local community and gain support for referrals for our young people.

Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. For this role, you will be required to work a rostered late shift on Thursdays (starting at 10:30 AM and finishing at 7:00 PM) every few weeks.

what we are looking for

• have a minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, along with a certificate IV in Youth Work or a related discipline; alternatively, possess a minimum of four years of experience in youth work (or a similar role).
• showcase your practical experience in youth work by proficiently case managing our young people engaged in Transition to Work. Illustrate your expertise in crafting strategies that empower disadvantaged youth to overcome challenges in employment.
• you are confident in delivering engaging and inspiring workshops through your demonstrated experience in facilitating training sessions to young people.
• possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a talent for networking, will enable you to cultivate relationships among diverse stakeholders, encompassing client cohorts, government entities, community organisations, and business groups.
• proficient skills in using technology and systems; our compliance requirements are high, and your administration needs to be on par with this.
• Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
