the program

Partnering with the NSW government, the Get Back in the Game (GBIG) service has been established to support disengaged young people aged (15-19) years of age to transition and/or re-engage in Employment, Education or Training!

your opportunity

We have an exciting position available across our St Marys, NSW  site to join our Get Back In The Game program as an Employment Mentor. You will work with young people (aged 15-19) using a client centered, strengths-based approach in helping them work through their complex barriers. Working as part of a support team, you will provide individually tailored education and employment case management to a group of young people with the end goal of achieving sustainable employment, education and/or training outcomes.

Your days will be diverse but in essence, can include;

• Partnering and networking with community organisations, key labour hire, local employers, schools, and training organisations including NSW TAFE to create and secure opportunities for employment, education, or training.
• Undertaking comprehensive individual assessments and providing subsequent work readiness support or referrals to specialist assistance services.
• Developing case plans and providing employment, training, and education case management.
• Actively promote and place young people into employment vacancies and opportunities appropriate to their abilities and interests
• Achieving individual KPI’s and team goals to meet outcome targets. Achieve minimum performance targets based on 12, and 26 week outcomes.

• Your practice is client focused; our young people are at the heart of it and you understand that they are the experts in their own lives.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a flair for networking will see you build relationships across a variety of stakeholders, including client cohorts, government, community, and business groups.
• A solid understanding of the local labour market and barriers faced by unemployed young people.
• Proven ability to engage and motivate young people and ability to work with culturally diverse cohorts.
• Proficient skills in using technology and systems; our compliance requirements are high, and your administration needs to be on par with this.
• A demonstrated capacity to work effectively towards KPI's.
• Possess an unrestricted full open driver's license.
• Previous exposure to the recruitment sector would be advantageous with demonstrated skills in brokering opportunities (employment and education) and maintaining positive and sustainable relations with external stakeholders.

We are offering $68,191 per annum + 11% Super + Salary Packaging
