As the Youth Worker and Employment Coach, you will provide comprehensive support and guidance to young people on their journey to employment. The role bridges the gap between crisis assistance and employment assistance programs such as Employment Services Australia. Participants may have barriers such as homelessness, mental health issues, drug or gambling problems or suffer social isolation.
Your role will include:
• Design and coordinate candidate engagement and attraction strategies to build strong networks and pipelines.
• Youth Welfare Support, ensuring Enterprise Trainees and Clients receive a comprehensive induction into the Enterprise Employment Program.
• Case Management - Developing individual action/case plans outlining key goals
• Employment Support to perform client assessments of needs/barriers and development of a goal plan to address these while in Enterprise employment
• Participate in and meet the requirements for Practice Supervision and Core Skills Training
• Demonstrate an understanding of, and meet the requirements of the position and all performance expectations including
what we are looking for:

In addition, you also possess;
• Certificate level qualification in Youth Work or relevant discipline with 2 -3 years’ experience, or four to six years’ experience working within case management frameworks with marginalised young people and/or families.
• Demonstrate a high degree of emotional intelligence: self-awareness. self-management, social awareness, and relationship management
• An innovative and strategic mindset focused on supporting young people to achieve their journey to employment
• Experience using a client centred, strengths-based approach to helping young people work through their barriers to employment
• Understanding of the local labour market, barriers to employment, and underlying issues faced by disadvantaged young people.
• Demonstrated skills in the effective delivery of workshops and facilitation processes with groups of young people.
