As part of the Family Support Services (SE Qld) leadership team, the Coordinator – Communities for Children works collaboratively to create an inclusive and supportive workplace. You will be responsible for coordinating our Communities for Children (CfC) – Facilitating Partner program. We work in consultation with the Deception Bay CfC Committee and key stakeholders on a whole of community approach to support and strengthen local service networks that contribute to enhancing early childhood development and wellbeing for children up to 12 years of age.

Your day to day will involve:
• Oversee the program to ensure yourtown delivers on its role as Facilitating Partner
• Ongoing consultation with key stakeholders to maintain a high level of awareness and understanding of the issues and challenges that local children, families and community groups face
• Work in consultation with stakeholders to identify strategies and /co-design service models
• Lead the team in the delivery of community development activities and project work that builds capacity and drives the development of an integrated and skilled local service system and enhances the capacity and skill development of Community Partners
• Develop and monitor Community Partner contracts and event specific service agreements
• Monitor and assess the performance and effectiveness of services provided by Community Partners and other CfC funded stakeholders
• Actively participate in and contribute to strategic planning, tender processes and support of the CfC Deception Bay Committee and the CfC Deception Bay Child and Family Alliance
• Program administration, reporting, compliance and continuous improvement
• Cultivate positive relationships with key stakeholders and maintain regular consultative and collaborative processes with CfC Priority Groups
• Attend and facilitate community information sessions, local reference groups and other forums and network activities
• Direct line management of the team

This position will be appointed on a full-time maximum term basis ending 30 June 2023.

About you:

• Degree level qualifications in social work, human services, community development or similar and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in leading child and family initiatives in close consultation and engagement with service users and community stakeholders
• Experience in coordinating programs including administration, managing budgets and monitoring contracts
• Strong ability to coordinate, lead and influence a range of external stakeholders and partners to meet communities' needs
• Experience in leading and managing staff to achieve organisational goals
• Demonstrated skills in community engagement and communication with diverse groups, including skills in team development and conflict resolution
• Demonstrated experience in developing responses to diverse and marginalised groups and experience in networking across community and government sectors
• High level communication skills, including ability to prepare and contribute to reports and submissions
