About the role:

The Data Engineer is responsible for developing, constructing, testing and maintaining yourtown’s data architecture, systems, pipelines and optimising data flows and collection for cross functional teams.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Build, connect and manage data assets as per data governance principles, guidelines, tools and technology including ETL, metadata and data quality management solutions
  • Ensure CDAO software, hardware, patterns, standards, tools/utilities are optimised
  • Acquire, extract, transform, store, integrate and manage data from various resources

 

About you

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Bachelor qualification in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, Engineering, or another relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role

Experience with the following:

  • Relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra
  • Data Modelling and Advanced SQL techniques
  • Cloud migration methodologies and processes including tools like Azure Data Factory, Event Hub etc.
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and working with relational databases
  • Performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes
  • Building processes to support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
