Our jobactive service specialises in helping young people (15-29) on their journey to employment. The service provides intensive, pre-employment support to improve the work-readiness of young people and help them into sustainable employment.

About the role

As a Youth Worker you will work with the young people using a client centred, strengths based approach in helping them work through their non-vocational challenges to employment. You will report to the Regional Manager. Your days will be diverse but in essence can include;

  • Undertaking individual assessments and providing referrals to specialist assistance services;
  • Developing case plans and providing employment case management;
  • Assessing and managing risk and providing crisis intervention;

This is a fixed term, full time role till March 2022 working across Salisbury and Enfield. Remuneration for this role commences at $73, 092 per annum + 9.50% Superannuation + salary packaging.

About you

You are approachable and easily build rapport with young people. You understand that persistence is key and you follow through on what you commit to. Your practice is client focussed, our young people are at the heart of it and you understand that they are the experts in their own lives. In addition you also possess;

  • Mandatory qualification at a Bachelor level or Graduate Diploma level in Allied Health, Behavioural Sciences, Social Work or similar coupled with demonstrated experience youth work in the context of case management of highly disadvantaged young people;
  • A solid understanding of the barriers faced by long term, unemployed  young people;
  • Proficient skills in using technology and systems; our compliance requirements are high and your administration needs to be on par with this.
