In this role you will be the Leading Hand when teaching and mentoring a team of young trainees (15-25 years). You will be outside on the tools working alongside your team and sharing your skills and experience.

In this role you will:

  • Manage and mentor trainees;
  • Multitask and problem solve daily;
  • Be extremely motivated and encouraging;
  • Approachable by trainees and customers;
  • Ability to liaise with all customers;
  • Ability to work with young people and overcome training barriers
  • Background in maintenance and or trades;
  • Be OHS Savy;
  • Have the skills and experience to be on the tools alongside our young people. 

Project will include:

  • Building and repairing fences;
  • Minor building repairs;
  • Building retaining walls; and
  • Garden maintenance.

This is a Monday – Friday casual, fixed-term contract until June 30. You will be based out of Kingston and have access to a company vehicle, phone, laptop, trade tools and work wear.

Our goal in Enterprises is to provide disadvantaged young people with paid work experience, in delivering a commercial contract. This experience is further supported with wrap around youth work. The end goal is to develop and build the young person’s capacity for workforce participation, so that they are able to secure and sustain employment in the open labour market.
