The Coordinator works collaboratively to coordinate three programs delivered from our Deception Bay site.

  • The Glugor Young Parents Program provides activities, projects, case management/ case work and workshops with young parents 25 years and younger, and their families within a case management framework
  • The Expressive Therapy Program delivers therapeutic responses with young children (0-8 years) who have experienced or are experiencing trauma
  • The KidzMatter2 Program provides a counselling service with children and young people (up to 18 years) dealing with trauma as a result of domestic and family violence

You will lead and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team as well as develop community connections and oversee case management and therapeutic practices, projects, workshops and activities that enhance opportunities for vulnerable parents and their children.

This position will be appointed on a fulltime basis, ending 30 June 2021.

About you:

You will have a Bachelor Degree in Social or Behavioural Sciences and demonstrated experience in leading a multidisciplinary team responding to children and families including workload management, case allocation, supervision and development. You will work within a clear client-centred, strength-based, trauma and attachment informed framework. You will demonstrate a strong knowledge of current evidence-based practice, programs, policies, legislation and trends relevant to parents and their young children and possess excellent communication, negotiation and report writing skills. You should have a collaborative style and experience in the provision of counselling responses. A good understanding of community and program development will allow you to help shape our programs to be more integrated with the community.
