About yourtown

yourtown's mission is "To enable young people, especially those who are marginalised and without voice, to improve their quality of life." We take the time to listen, understand and encourage young people to find their place.

For over 15 years, yourtown has been providing quality employment services throughout Australia in communities facing long-term unemployment. Employment Services at yourtown works persistently to address youth unemployment and its causes, by unpacking the challenges a young person might have and finding the right solution for that young person.

About the role

In our Virtual Employment Services space, we service our job seekers through platforms such as phone and email, with a view to move towards skype and webchat. We are passionate about providing individually tailored, strengths based case management with the end goal of achieving sustainable employment outcomes. We pioneered this program in July 2019 and are now looking for the next superstar to join our team!

As a Placement Consultant, every day will be different but day to day you will be;

  • Contacting newly referred job seekers and engaging them in our services;
  • Undertaking individual assessments and creating an individual and tailored plan to support a young person into Employment or Education;
  • Connecting our job seekers to our local service centres for ongoing support in their pursuit of employment;
  • Providing staffing relief to sites to cover unplanned leave.

About you

You are passionate about what you do. To you this is not just a job, it is your career – a choice that you make every day! Your practice is client focussed, our young people are at the heart of it and you understand that they are the experts in their own lives. Your practice is also reflective and you invite insights and continuous development through operational and practice supervision frameworks.

A natural solutions finder, you trouble shoot as situations arise and are innovative in your approach. You are acutely business savvy and have a solid understanding of the local labour market. Our compliance requirements are strict but you are well versed in administration and can keep on top of this without an issue.
