Based in an idyllic rural setting in North Richmond, San Miguel family residential service provides intensive, individualised support to vulnerable young parents and their children. San Miguel is a unique service that plays a critical role in keeping children safe and well and keeping young families together. Parents and children receive support from a multi-disciplinary team through a combination of on-site and community based interventions that ensure children are engaged in safe, developmentally appropriate activities and their parents are supported to set and pursue family and personal goals.
In this hands on role, the Maintenance Officer is responsible for ensuring our large rural property, including grounds, buildings and equipment is fit for the safe, effective and uninterrupted provision of services. You will undertake a wide range of general maintenance and handyperson duties. You may be involved in anything from buildings and property maintenance, helping families move, putting together flat pack furniture, cleaning units, repairing equipment, tending the vegetable garden and anything else that is required to keep our service functioning and ensuring our residents are safe and well!
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys a physically active outdoors role, with a can do attitude and the ability to repair anything!
You will be an all-round handy person with solid health and safety knowledge and experience in a wide range of repairs and maintenance jobs. You will have basic computer skills, flexibility in working hours, including the ability to participate in on-call after hours work, and be willing and able to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks. You will be able to demonstrate compassion and understanding towards vulnerable young people and be genuinely interested in creating opportunities for change. A driver’s licence is essential.
