your opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to kick-start your career in Community Services while making a real difference in your community. As our Youth Guide, you’ll be the first friendly face of our yourtown Kingaroy site and your role is all about making people feel comfortable, providing great customer service and hospitality. It's a busy environment and each day is unique.

your regular tasks

  • Greeting other young people, families, and visitors with warmth and positivity.
  • Using our IT and CRM systems, answering the phone and handling enquiries
  • Plan and deliver fun, engaging weekly activities and events that bring young people and the community together.
  • Share helpful information about transport, amenities, and local services.
  • Look for opportunities to provide proactive support to staff and members while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Office-related tasks like ordering supplies, organising catering, and keeping things running smoothly.

  • A natural problem solver and can easily connect with other young people.
  • Strong communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to engage and share information clearly with clients and staff.
  • A friendly, self-aware team player who builds positive relationships.
  • Experience working in a busy, on-your-feet environment.
  • Enjoys cooking and hosting to prepare meals for young people.

We provide tailored, youth-focused support for young people to get work, skills and practical help to transform their lives. yourtown has been delivering youth specialist Employment Services for 18 years and is a well-respected, long-term provider.

Transition to Work (TtW) is the Australian Government’s youth specialist employment service that supports young people to develop practical skills to gain employment or connect with education or training. 

Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA formerly DES) supports young people aged 15–24 living with disability to prepare, find, and thrive in employment through a strengths-based, youth-first model of support that’s tailored to each individual.
