yourtown is one of the pioneers of work-based social enterprises in Australia, having provided over 3,000 young people with paid work experience and training over the last 20 years.
Our program allows experienced tradespeople to work alongside youth workers to provide supervision and mentoring support for up to four participants engaged in labour intensive work, designed to build entry level skills.

Based at Sunnybank Hills and working with the Social Enterprises team, you will ensure that all contracted construction is achieved in the most efficient and effective manner within the approved timeframe and budget. This position will provide line management and support to yourtown Enterprise Trainers and Carpentry Apprentices and trainees; to support outcome achievement for customers and young team members. This is a full time permanent position.
Your role will include:
• Effective project management to deliver quality outcomes for enterprise customers and achieve contractual obligations, outcome requirements and production targets in a timely manner.
• Providing the provision of quality line supervision of Enterprise Trainers
• Supervise Trainers to ensure quality and timeliness of work, and mentoring style engagement with young team members.
• Ensure Organisational requirements are met within the role; Understand and adhere to Federal and State legislative requirements
• Participate in and meet the requirements for Practice Supervision and Client Skills Training
• Maintaining currency of knowledge with regards to relevant legislation, professional practice and emerging trends to ensure advice is current and effective
what we are looking for
You will have a recognised trade qualification and background and experience leading a team and scheduling works. You will operate within a Safety Always environment and have the ability to lead within a strong safety culture.
You will bring:
• passion, commitment and belief in young people
• Minimum of 6 years experience in a leadership or management role
• Demonstrated well-developed construction project management skills including planning, monitoring, costing and evaluation skills, and proven abilities in project estimations, quotations and quality control
• Extensive knowledge of current Workplace Health and Safety requirements
• The ability to coach and guide team members to achieve organisational objectives
