our program

Transition to Work (TtW) is the Australian Government’s youth specialist employment service that supports young people to develop practical skills to gain employment or connect with education or training. At yourtown, we understand everyone is unique – and so is their journey to finding work. We don’t just help with the job hunt. We provide tailored, youth-focused support for young people to get work, skills and practical help to transform their lives.

What distinguishes Transition to Work from other government services is that we are a choice program; our members have the choice to engage with our program. Our dedicated team collaborates closely with young people, tailoring a blend of activities and services to support their employment, education, and personal aspirations.

We have four exciting opportunities in the Transition to Work program in the Brisbane South East region and are thrilled to welcome passionate & dynamic professionals to yourtown. As part of our team, you'll play a key role in enhancing our brand presence and making a significant impact within the Transition to Work Program. Join us and be a part of our growth story!

Across Brisbane South East, we have opportunities for the following positions:

• Employment Consultant: Join a collaborative support team dedicated to empowering young people. You'll focus on enhancing their skills, confidence, and readiness for employment through targeted and customised activities. Leverage your customer service expertise and relationship-building abilities to guide them toward meaningful, sustainable careers.
Indigenous Mentor: Offer culturally sensitive mentorship and guidance to Indigenous youth aged 15-24. Help them develop the skills and confidence necessary to thrive in the workforce, providing tailored support to ensure their success and retention in employment.
Business Development Consultant: Work closely with employers to design suitable job opportunities, effectively matching young people with the right employment opportunities. Your collaboration will help create pathways to success and ensure positive outcomes for both. 

what we are looking for

• Extensive knowledge of youth employment issues including challenges to employment, strategies to overcome challenges and a demonstrated empathy with young people.
• The drive to meet KPIs – it isn’t just a number; it is a young person’s life that you help change for the better.
• You understand the local labour market and can develop employer focused strategies to place disadvantaged young people into sustainable employment.
• Strong administrative skills, computer literacy and demonstrated attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
• Confident with problem-solving on the go, navigating challenges with an outcomes-focused approach.
• You’re a natural problem solver, who can multi-task and prioritise your workload.
• Australian Drivers Licence.
