Based in an idyllic rural setting in North Richmond, San Miguel family residential service provides intensive, individualised support to vulnerable young parents and their children. San Miguel is a unique service that plays a critical role in keeping children safe and well and keeping young families together. Parents and children receive support from a multi-disciplinary team through a combination of on-site and community based interventions that ensure children are engaged in safe, developmentally appropriate activities and their parents are supported to set and pursue family and personal goals.

The Support Officer provides a wide range of support to help with the efficient and effective operations of our service, including transportation, cleaning, child minding and assisting the Client Services team.

About you:

You will be able to demonstrate compassion and understanding towards vulnerable young people and will have a genuine desire to be part of the solution by being a welcoming and supportive contact at the site. You will be responsible for transporting clients to appointments, school, shopping etc; setting up units for new residents; undertaking site cleaning responsibilities, child minding and general support for the site.

You should have 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrate the ability to be discrete and confidential. You will work as part of the wider team and will also be able to work autonomously and you should be able to demonstrate the ability to be flexible in time management and prioritising tasks. A driver’s licence is essential.

This is a permanent part time (4 days per week) position.
