Based in a confidential location in the Scenic Rim, this role has responsibility for overseeing the direct client work of the women and children accommodated at our Domestic and Family Violence Refuge.
Our Domestic and Family Violence Refuge is a welcoming haven for women and their children who have experienced the trauma of domestic/family violence. All refuge staff work towards assisting families to regain independence & safety following domestic and family violence. We provide therapeutic support to help women and children break the cycle of violence and resettle into safe, affordable housing. Families have access to specialised counselling, child therapy, training in life skills, and links to health, legal and specialist services.
Your role will include:
• manage a complex case load
• direct line management of the client services team
• coordinate the day-to-day support work and ensure service standards are being met
• facilitating collaborative review meetings
• safety planning and risk assessments and critical decision making in relation to the needs of families
what we are looking for
We are looking for a flexible and adaptable individual who will work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve best practice outcomes for woman and families.
You will bring:
• passion, commitment and belief in young people
• bachelor in Social or Behavioural Sciences with at least 4 years direct experience working with families, ideally in the domestic and family violence space
• experience in leading and coordinating a team
• demonstrated understanding of working from a trauma and attachment informed framework
• working knowledge of legislation specific to domestic violence, child protection, court procedures and processes
