yourtown is a trusted provider of services for young people, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing, long-term unemployment, prevention of youth suicide, child protection, as well as support for those experiencing domestic and family violence.

your opportunity

Based at our Milton head office, this role has responsibility for engaging and networking with parents and carers of children and young people (with a focus on 0-8 years), community services, and government stakeholders across Queensland and the Northern Territory.

Parentline is an established confidential telephone and online service, providing professional counselling, education and support for parents and carers in Queensland and the Northern Territory. The program operates 7 days a week between 8am and 10pm (local time) and has a focus on providing support to parents and carers of children aged between 0-8 years.

Your role will include:

• create and drive strategies to promote the service and expand and enhance our online presence
• develop and maintain local networks and connections and enhance engagement with parents and carers
• plan and undertake engagement activities to source and attract cohorts
• as the public face of Parentline, this role involves frequent travel throughout Qld and NT to attend events and maintain local connections

what we are looking for

You will have a genuine passion for networking and developing stakeholder connections to achieve positive outcomes for programs and clients. You will enjoy using your ability to think creatively to successfully plan and undertake engagement activities to source and attract target cohorts.

You will bring:

• demonstrated experience in community engagement within the community services sector
• Diploma level qualification in social sciences
• strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across a variety of stakeholders including client cohorts, government, community, and business groups
• solid understanding of strategies for engagement, including digital and online engagement
• ability to travel on a regular basis
