Grounds Maintenance Leading Hand

We are looking for a skilled Grounds Maintenance Leading Hand to lead and mentor a team of young trainees (15-25 years) in our grounds maintenance crew! You will be outside on the tools working on commercial contracts with our young trainees training, mentoring and undertaking projects such as mowing, mulching, weeding, soft landscaping, internal and external cleaning etc. 

We have a full time, 12 month Fixed Term position (Monday - Friday) available in Bridgewater TAS!

You will have full access to a company vehicle, phone, laptop, trade tools, and workwear! 

In this role you will:

  • Manage and mentor young trainees and help overcome training barriers.
  • Background in ground maintenance and/or trades.
  • Be OHS Savy.
  • Hold a White Card or willing to obtain one
  • Have the skills and experience to be on the tools alongside our young people.
  • Be extremely motivated and encouraging.

Projects will include:

  • Garden and grounds maintenance.
  • Grass cutting and vegetation management.
  • Graffiti removal and indoor/outdoor cleaning services.
  • Ground clean-up.
  • Soft landscaping

About the program:

Our goal in Enterprises is to provide disadvantaged young people with paid work experience, in delivering a commercial contract. This experience is further supported with wrap around youth work. The end goal is to develop and build the young person’s capacity for workforce participation, so that they are able to secure and sustain employment in the open labour market.
