About the Role

Based at Milton and working with the People & Culture Team, this key role will be crucial in supporting yourtown’s business transformation. You’ll have a fantastic opportunity to leave your legacy on improving employee experience and to pave the way for future employees.

Supporting the organisation to mature and optimise our employee offerings, you will lead the renegotiation of our enterprise agreement, provide expert advice on job design, employment contracts, support case management, lead workplace investigations, represent yourtown in FWC activity and facilitate conciliation meetings.

You will work collaboratively with the People & Culture Business Partnering team, and People & Culture Leaders to provide integrated, holistic and contemporary people practices in a modern, flexible, digital workplace.

About you

We’re looking for candidates with:

  • Degree level qualifications in a relevant discipline (e.g. IR, HR, Law or similar)
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar IR position
  • Excellent knowledge of current Australian employment law and legislation and a proven ability to understand and interpret industrial instruments, legislative obligations, contracts of employment, company policies and associated documents
  • Demonstrated experience in managing employment litigation in a range of jurisdictions
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and advocacy skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to quickly develop positive and productive working relationships
  • Highly developed organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise, exercise critical decision making, manage customer expectations and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated high level professional writing skills with the ability to prepare formal and legal communications, reports, and submissions
