About the role

It’s an exciting time to join the Information Digital & Technology (ID&T) team as we have just begun yourtown’s Digital Transformation journey. We call it Program LEAD (Leading Experiences Across Digital).

Program LEAD will directly and significantly contribute to achieving yourtown’s strategic goals to:

  • Help more young people, by modernising our digital footprint and enabling greater outreach
  • Help young people more deeply, by enabling us to offer integrated services, informed and personalised through improved data capture
  • Become a more efficient and effective organisation, enabling automation, making it faster to get information, and will streamline the ways in which we work
  • Increase funding, through reaching more financial stakeholders and engaging them more effectively.


As the ETL Developer you will be responsible for the ingestion, transformation and, integration of data and deliver structured data to a scalable data warehouse platform.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Project setup: work closely with the Business Analyst to understand the client’s requirements with full end-to-end responsibility for the ETL processes
  • Map data, analyse, document, and understand the source system and integration with Azure Power Platform
  • Deliver data migration activities including the development of queries to transform source data ready for load
  • Assess data quality by writing source-to-template QA scripts, and cleansing scripts (if required)
  • Develop SQL scripts/Stored Procedures for data migration
  • Develop & maintain documentation to support the understanding of where data is stored, ETL during data migration and defects within the knowledge base


About you

To be successful in this role you have:

  • Experience with:
    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • T-SQL skills including creating stored procedures, views, and indexes as well as performance tuning queries
    • BI tools (including Power BI), Data/Analytics, Reporting, Data Integration and Master Data Management
    • Azure DevOps release pipelines
  • Experience with some of the Microsoft Azure data products including:
    • Data Factory
    • Data Lake
    • Analysis Services
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
