As a Digital Content and Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing yourtown’s brand visibility. You will create engaging, innovative content relating to our members, staff, and mission of yourtown.

 In this role you will:

  • Provide best practice social media advice and be on the lookout for new opportunities to reach and engage with our audiences.
  • Implement, manage, champion, and utilise platforms to support digital marketing and social media activities.
  • Review performance data, trends, and behaviours providing analytical insights into channel performance and audiences.
  • Support delivery of digital marketing and social media campaign plans, via paid ad platforms, as required.
  • Oversee delivery of organic owned channel content planning, development, and publishing.
  • Optimise channel performance through collaborative brainstorming and test and learn opportunities.
  • Actively respond and engage with users in conversations in comments and messages across several social platforms in a timely manner whilst staying on brand and ensuring consistency of tone.
  • Lead and manage key projects across yourtown sites.


About you: 

  • Bachelor level qualifications in Marketing, Communication, or Public Relations.
  • Exceptional knowledge and experience with social media scheduling, listening tools, ad management tools, and Google Analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience using and publishing through web content management systems.
  • Fundamental knowledge of SEO principles and tactics.
  • Understand what content and trends are relevant to young people and know how to reflect this through the messaging and creative delivered while staying true to the brand.
  • Be an excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to gain insights and inform decisions.
