The Position: 

We are currently looking for an experienced People and Culture Officer (Payroll). This role will be supporting the People and Culture team in processing and administering transactional activities across all facets of HR Operational service delivery. 

In addition to this you will:

  • Provide timely and accurate end to end payroll processing and administrative tasks;
  • Processing new starters, all employee changes, terminations, leave reconciliations, payroll adjustments and calculations;
  • Maintaining and updating HRIS system, data, records and reports;
  • Provide quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Answer payroll related enquiries in a timely and professional manner;
  • Preparing month-end, year-end, FBT, PAYG, Superannuation, employee benefits, portable long service leave, workers compensation remittance and reconciliations; and
  • Applying and interpreting Enterprise Agreement, Fair Work NES Standards, Common Law Contracts and relevant Awards, ATO requirements and all other legislative requirements;
  • Contributing and delivering tasks aligned to the HR operational activity schedules.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience using Preceda (highly regarded);
  • Demonstrated end to end payroll processing experience (medium/large organisation);
  • Sound knowledge of payroll and general HR practices, procedures and legislation;
  • A professional and organised approach to work;
  • Be reliable, dependable, accurate and have a keen eye for detail; 
  • Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus;
  • Strong excel skills and experience in using and maintaining Human Resources Information Systems; and
  • Solid understanding of the applicable laws and regulations covering payroll administration, income taxation, superannuation, salary packaging, awards and industrial agreements.
