Reporting to the Advocacy, Research, and Innovation Manager, the Advocacy and Policy Lead will provide high quality and professional advocacy and strategic policy services across yourtown. In addition to this you will:

  • Lead the collation, analysis, and reporting on social and economic policies impacting yourtown and clients.
  • Undertake analysis of current and proposed social and economic policy, legislation and service systems.
  • Lead the development of yourtown’s policy responses including policy production, advocacy, search papers, and positions statements.
  • Identify funding sources to support the achievement of yourtown’s strategic priorities and provide input funding submission.
  • Co-design and consult and yourtown advocacy agenda.

Role requirements:

  • Bachelor level degree in relevant field and experience in social, economic or evidence-informed advocacy.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of policy development - relating to children, young people, and families (highly regarded).
  • High-level communication (written and verbal), consultation, and negotiation skills with the ability to apply in a diverse setting.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, with the ability to manage the development and implementation of stakeholder initiatives, as well as create lasting relationships.
  • Proven experience in preparing project briefs and reporting relating to complex issues.
  • Excellent judgment and demonstrated ability to uphold and live the values of yourtown.
