Based onsite at Kingston (QLD), the Virtual Expressive Therapist will deliver therapeutic responses via a virtual platform, to children and young people (aged 0-18) who have been identified as likely to benefit from expressive therapy, and require the use of a virtual service to aid access to therapeutic support. You will also use expressive therapies and play-based responses to deliver family interventions, to support and strengthen the parent/carer and child relationship and/or other family connections. The service aims to improve children and young people’s social-emotional wellbeing, empowerment, behavioural adjustment, caregiver attunement to their child’s needs, and quality of attachment relationships.
You will have relevant university level qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience using expressive therapies, including experience utilising therapeutic modalities via teleconferencing. You will be registered, or eligible for registration, with a relevant professional association, such as ANZACATA, APTA, PACFA. You will demonstrate experience working with a wide age range of children, including under 5’s, and comfort working with parents/carers. You will demonstrate a high level of commitment to child centred practice, cultural awareness and inclusivity, and professional ethical standards, underpinned by strengths based, trauma, attachment, and systemic frameworks.

This is a full time fixed term position until 30th November 2021 (negotiation of a 4 day per week role available with a later completion date if preferred).
