• No experience required, car and Licence not essential but preferred
• Must have an interest in Landscaping and Horticulture
• 12 month paid traineeship!

yourtown Social Enterprises is looking for 2 young people who are enthusiastic about starting a career in Landscaping and/or Horticulture.

Here is your opportunity to learn more about the industry through hands on practical experience combined with wrap around training provided by yourtown Social Enterprises. You will be supported by a qualified Trainer and a Youth Worker to help you develop your skills and experience!


Program Information

During the Traineeship you will gain:

• 12 months of paid industry experience;
• Certificate II in Horticulture
• Assistance transitioning into full time employment following your traineeship

During this Traineeship you will learn a variety of hard / soft landscaping and horticulture skills such as Grounds maintenance & Parks Maintenance - which will include mowing, brush cutting, etc.


Who can apply?

• Young People aged 15 to 25;
• Must meet eligibility requirements for a Working with Children Blue Card;
• Must be able to complete a National Police Check;
• Must be fully vaccinated (Covid Vaccine);
• Must NOT have completed a Certificate II in Horticulture;
• Not currently a full time student at TAFE, University or School;
• Be local to the Deception Bay area;
• Permanent resident of Australia;
• New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Qld;
• Refugee and Humanitarian Visa Holder living in Qld; or
• Temporary Visa Holder living in Qld with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency.
