As part of the Family Support Services (SE Qld) leadership team, the Coordinator – Young Parents Program works collaboratively to create an inclusive and supportive workplace. You will be responsible for coordinating our Glugor Young Parents Program to achieve quality client outcomes to enhance the wellbeing of young parents and their children. The Glugor Young Parents Program provides activities, projects, case management and workshops with young parents 25 years and younger, and their families, within a case management framework.

Your day to day will involve:

• Lead the day-to-day delivery of the program and direct line management of the team
• Oversee case management, collaborative case planning and case reviews and ensure the team’s client practice is aligned to our frameworks, safeguarding and other requirements
• Support the team to work with parents to assist them to gain the confidence and skills to develop strategies to respond to their child’s complex needs, to keep their children safe, and to access services
• Oversee referral, wait list and intake processes
• Undertake effective critical decision making in relation to the needs of children and families
• Plan, develop and evaluate workshops for parents
• Program administration, reporting, compliance and continuous improvement
• Develop and maintain community networks

This position will be appointed on a full-time maximum term basis ending 30 June 2023.

Successful candidates will bring:
• Degree level qualifications in social work, human services or similar and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in leading programs in the child and family community sector
• Demonstrated experience in leading a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge in child development and supporting parents with complex needs
• Demonstrated experience in workshop planning and delivery for families experiencing disadvantage and ability to engage families experiencing disadvantage
• Excellent communication, negotiation and report writing skills, including proficient computer technology skills
