Based at Deception Bay (QLD), the Expressive Therapist will provide therapeutic responses with children and young people (aged 0-18 years) who have witnessed or experienced domestic/family violence and are experiencing developmental trauma as a result. You will also work with 0-8 year olds utilising expressive therapy and providing Filial Therapy and Family Therapy, who have been referred from other yourtown programs. You will utilise a variety of modalities, including counselling, creative and expressive therapy within a trauma informed, strengths based framework.

About you:

You will have relevant tertiary qualifications and at least 3 years' experience using expressive therapies, including delivering therapeutic responses to children and/or young people who have experienced Domestic and Family Violence. You will be registered, or eligible for registration, with a relevant professional association, such as ANZACATA. You will demonstrate knowledge of child centred practice, empowerment and confidentiality and will have a good understanding of attachment, development and trauma.
